Passionate musician ready to guide you.

Meet David

I believe that everyone has the ability to play music. With years of experience studying and performing various instruments I’ve realized: it’s all in the heart. If the heart is gone, it doesn’t happen.

I focus on making music enjoyable. The trick is everyone finds joy in a different way. Some people enjoy accomplishing the task of building up their speed of a fast guitar lead, a piano scale or a complex drum beat. Some people love the feeling of wood vibrating when they strike a certain chord or the tactile feeling of touching the piano. You may want an instrument to accompany your singing or perhaps you want to play something loud and get your energy out. I work with all ages and demographics to inspire you in each step of your journey with music. Let’s make your musical dream a reality together!

So thankful for my dad. He introduced me to both guitar and piano. He had an old D-35 Martin from his rock band days and a little keyboard. That was enough to wake up my excitement for music. My mom introduced me to 60s pop music. I remember in 3rd grade staying up late listened to those over and over and writing out all the lyrics. Would then categorize them as Verse, Chorus, Bridge and then hum them at school.

In 4th grade my dad taught me my first songs and rudimentary music skills. In 6th grade, I picked up percussion for school band all the way until graduation. At Lakeland Junior High and High School, Mr. Kimberling and Mr. Scicilla poured extra time into me and developed my understand of music in a deeper way. I would hang out in their rooms every lunch and learn what I could. In 6th grade, I also took private lessons in piano until 8th grade when I fell in love with the guitar (both acoustic and electric). That became my life. I studied rock, jazz, classical, pop and realized I loved to play my ear. That took me so far until I realized I needed to know my music theory to really succeed. I spent high school studying chord and song structures so that when I arrived at college I could finish my studies in the fine arts of music theory. I played in multiple rock bands while in high school. At church, I have either played electric guitar or led worship music for so many churches in our area as well as events in the PNW.

I started teaching lessons in 2010 and realized I loved to provide people my experience and understanding of music to take them along each step of their musical journey.
